Texas Armed Forces Chess is a 501(c)(3) UGHOKI nonprofit organization committed to enhancing the lives of military personnel through chess. We believe in the power of this ancient game to develop strategic thinking, build community, and provide meaningful recreation for those who serve our nation.
Founded by veterans and chess enthusiasts, our organization brings together active duty, reserve, and retired military members from all branches to connect, compete, and grow through the game of chess.

Our Journey
Foundation
Texas Armed Forces Chess was founded by a group of veterans who recognized the need for chess programming in military communities across Texas.
First Major Tournament
Hosted our first statewide military chess championship with participants from 6 different Texas military bases.
Digital Expansion
Launched online tournaments and training programs to serve military members during the pandemic and those stationed remotely.
Nonprofit Status
Received official 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, allowing us to expand our programs and reach more military communities.
Record Growth
Served over 500 military members across 12 Texas bases with 45+ tournaments and training events throughout the year.
